Simon Travis - Managing Director and Lead Consultant

Simon’s background in agriculture began through family farming and agricultural contracting, giving him first-hand experience of the practical and commercial pressures faced by farming businesses.

Before establishing Farming Efficiencies in its current form, Simon worked in agri-business consultancy and managed a team of agricultural consultants working across England. This developed broad experience across farm business management, environmental schemes, technical advice, project delivery and the wider challenges involved in running and developing agricultural businesses.

At Farming Efficiencies, Simon works with farmers and rural businesses on everything from business planning and investment decisions to environmental schemes, grants, technical projects and business administration. His work also extends beyond individual farms, supporting agricultural businesses, industry organisations and project partners with feasibility work, farmer engagement, project development and delivery.

The common thread across this work is a practical and commercially realistic approach. Farming Efficiencies aims to understand what the client is trying to achieve, challenge assumptions where needed and help develop a route that can actually be delivered.
